Her First Christmas. Your First Portrait Together. One Frame.
A deep V neckline framed by tulle that drapes wide over each shoulder, a waist that sits where yours actually is, and a skirt built from tier after tier of pleated emerald mesh — these mommy and daughter matching dresses are the same gown made twice, full length for you and full-skirted for her. It is a shape photographers keep in the studio wardrobe for a reason: emerald reads rich against a plain backdrop, a marble staircase or candlelight, and the tiers give a still photograph movement.
Two Dresses, One Order — Her Size and Yours Chosen Together
Most mommy and daughter matching dresses are two separate listings you have to line up yourself. This is one set: you pick your size and hers on this page, and both dresses are made and shipped together. Yours runs US 2 through US 16; hers runs 3T through 10.
Tiers That Give a Still Photograph Movement
Flat fabric goes dead in a studio. These skirts are built from horizontal tiers of gathered mesh, so the light breaks across them and both figures hold their shape whether you are standing on a staircase or sitting on a sofa with her on your lap.
No Boning, No Stiff Waistband
The gown is unstructured — light tulle, a softly gathered waist, nothing rigid anywhere. That is why it survives a four-hour evening, why it sizes up cleanly for a maternity session, and why it is not leaving marks by the time the photographer asks for one more.
Cut for an Arm-Carry
Her dress has soft ruffled shoulders, a closed neck and a skirt that gathers rather than sticks out flat, so she sits comfortably on your hip instead of fighting a hooped skirt. It is the difference between a portrait and twenty minutes of adjusting a toddler.
One Emerald, Not Two
Both dresses are cut and finished together for your order, so the greens read as a single color side by side. Two green dresses bought from two different places almost never do.
Wear them for maternity and newborn sessions, family portraits, first birthdays, christenings, weddings, black-tie evenings, pageants and Christmas cards. It is one of the few sets of girls' formal dresses that looks as right in a studio at nine in the morning as it does under a chandelier at nine at night.

Measured by hand; allow 1–3 cm (0.4–1.2 in) tolerance. Hollow to floor is measured from the base of the neck straight down to the floor, without shoes. Size by your bust — the V is cut wide as well as deep, and it is the shoulder drape that has to sit right. If you are pregnant, between sizes, or taller than 5'9", take the larger size; unstructured tulle is easy to take in and impossible to let out.

Measured by hand; allow 1–3 cm (0.4–1.2 in) tolerance. Sizing her is a different job from sizing yourself: measure her chest and her hollow-to-floor and use those, because the height column is only a guide and children rarely land on their age. The sizes overlap deliberately — 4T and 4 are not the same dress — so read the numbers rather than the label. Between two, take the larger; a tiered skirt that sits long still photographs well, a tight bodice does not.
Questions moms ask
Do I get both dresses? Yes. Your size and hers are chosen together on this page, and the women's gown and the girls' dress ship as one set — you cannot check out with only one.
Is this cut for a real adult body, or is it a girls' dress in bigger numbers? It is a full adult gown: adult bust, waist, hip and hollow-to-floor measurements, floor length on a woman rather than a scaled-up child's pattern. Take your own measurements and read the chart instead of assuming your usual store size.
Will the two greens match? Yes — both dresses are cut and finished together for your order, so they read as one emerald in the photograph. That consistency is the reason to buy mommy and daughter matching dresses as one set rather than as two separate dresses you hope will agree.
Can I nurse in it? Not discreetly — the V is a single piece of draped tulle with no opening, so it lifts from the hem rather than pulling aside. Photographers usually shoot the gown first and work her feed around the session; if you are nursing, plan on a short break rather than feeding in the dress.
Can mine be altered, and is it lined? The women's gown is layered tulle rather than opaque lining, so most customers wear a nude or matching slip underneath, and a seamstress can attach one permanently if you prefer. Taking in the bodice is straightforward on unstructured tulle; shortening is not, because each tier would have to be rebuilt — so size by hollow-to-floor and choose your heel height to match. The girls' dress is lined through the body.
